Stuffed Peppers – Video Recipe

One of my ever favorite dishes! Homie, fulfilling and tasty, stuffed peppers give me the best memories and fill up my soul! My great grandmother Minka, age 94, used to make them during the summer with homegrown green peppers. The only thing is that I’ll never be able to make them the way she can. My recipe is completely different but still reminds me of my childhood. Her recipe is for the simplest vegetarian peppers, stuffed with rice, onion, carrots, and herbs. They had the very signature taste of her oven! I have the feeling that even the baking tray gives its own taste to the meals you cook in it. I don’t know what was the magic but I know for sure that I’ll never make them the same way and I’ll never forget the taste.

So here is a modern version of my favorite Stuffed peppers.

The sauce that you’ll see in the video down below is optional. If you prefer you can have the stuffed peppers with any other sauce of your choice or just don’t use any. In Bulgaria we usually but not necessarily serve the peppers with the white sauce.

For the white sauce you will need:

3 tbsp Vegetable oil

1 Heaped tbsp white flour

1 Egg

200 g Natural Yogurt

Salt
